Ingredients And Variations
Chicken – Catch chicken breasts when they’re on sale and freeze shredded portions to use anytime. In a pinch for time? Grab a cooked rotisserie chicken from the market and have plenty left over! Avoid using canned chicken since it is too soft for this recipe.
Hot Sauce – Franks Buffalo Sauce comes in a variety of flavors now, from mild to extra spicy, but you can also make this DIY buffalo sauce and adjust the seasonings as you like!
Cheese – Pre-shredded Mexican cheese blend is perfect for this recipe, but you can use sharp cheddar, Colby-Jack, or Monterey Jack.
Seasonings – Ranch dressing is a favorite addition, or sprinkle in Southwest seasoning, low carb blackening seasoning, or even some homemade fajita seasoning.
Variations – Toss in some chopped celery, bell peppers, diced broccoli, or cauliflower for extra crunch and a boost of nutrients. Add more buffalo sauce, green chiles, or diced jalapenos for a spicy kick.
