Similar to the popular recipe at Avocado Grill in South Florida, this recipe starts with the basic grilled avocado recipe, but we left plenty of room for delicious ways to enjoy them!
Avocados – Choose whole, unblemished avocados that have a little ‘”give” when you press into them. Keep the pit and sprout a new avocado tree!
Oil – Besides olive oil, try other oils like sesame oil, spicy chili oil, or even melted bacon grease, which will infuse avocados with tasty flavor!
Optional Seasoning – Salt and pepper is optional, to taste. If desired, try this DIY garlic herb seasoning or a zesty southwestern blend.
How To Cook An Avocado On The Grill
- Cut avocados vertically and remove the pit. Brush the cut sides with oil and season.
- Grill each cut half until lightly charred (as per the recipe below). Serve immediately.
Serving And Storage Ideas!

Keep leftover grilled avocado in zippered bags in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Use leftovers to make a quick salsa with chunks of grilled avocado cubes, corn (a few kernels for color, although corn is not keto), roasted tomatoes, crumbled Cotija cheese, and cilantro for fish or shrimp tacos.
