4ouncessliced mozzarella cheeseor 4 slices American cheddar cheese
¼cuplow carb barbecue sauce
4low carb hamburger rolls
lettuce, tomatoes, onions as desired for serving
Instructions
Preheat grill to medium heat.
In a medium bowl, combine beef, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Gently mix just until combined.
Divide the meat into 4 even pieces.
Flatten the meat into a 5-inch circle. Fold the cheese slices into 1-inch squares and place them inside the meat. Gently fold the meat around the cheese, taking care to seal the edges, flattening the patties to 4-inch rounds.
Brush each burger with the barbecue sauce on both sides.
Grill the burgers over medium heat for 6-7 minutes on per side or until cooked though and the cheese is melted (160°F).
Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Nutrition is calculated without the low carb hamburger bun or the optional toppings.
To broil the burgers, place them on a foil covered pan approximately 6-inches from the broiler. Broil 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked.
