Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cool water and trim off the ends. Cut Brussels in half if they are large.
Place Brussels sprouts in a microwave-safe bowl and cover tightly with plastic wrap. Microwave for 2-3 minutes or until they just start to soften. Do not overcook.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic, salt & pepper. Cool slightly and thread Brussels sprouts onto skewers.*
Grill, turning frequently, until sprouts are tender and nicely browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.

*If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10-15 minutes and coat them in oil before using them to prevent burning and sticking.
