Kielbasa and Sauerkraut

kielbasa
sliced

tablespoon
butter

sauerkraut
drained well

cup
chicken broth

teaspoons
Dijon mustard
½
teaspoon
caraway seeds
*optional

teaspoon
garlic powder
¼
teaspoon
black pepper
or to taste
Instructions
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut, broth, Dijon, caraway seeds, garlic powder, and pepper.
Cover, and simmer on medium-low heat for 10 minutes. Uncover and cook 5-7 minutes more, or until liquid has mostly evaporated.
Taste and adjust pepper as needed.
Notes
*Caraway seeds can be ground with a mortar and pestle if preferred, or they can be skipped without affecting the recipe too much.
If using an oven-proof skillet, the finished dish can be transferred to a slow oven (200°F) and kept warm until it's time to serve.
