Ingredients
1medium oniondiced
3clovesgarlicminced
1lblean ground porkor beef
½cupuncooked brown rice
½head purple cabbagesliced
3tablespoonsflour
114.5 ounce can stewed tomatoes, low sodium
2tablespoonstomato paste
2-3cupsbeef brothlow sodium
2dashes hot sauce
1cupV8 or other vegetable juice
1teaspoonpaprika
1teaspoonthyme
1tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
1bay leaf
salt and pepperto taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, brown onion, garlic and pork until no pink remains. Drain any fat.
Add cabbage to pot and flour to pot. Stiry just until slightly softened.
Add remaining ingredients (starting with 2 cups of broth) and simmer covered on stirring occasionally. Keep an eye on the skillet and add more broth as required. Cook until rice is fully cooked (about 20-25 minutes)
